Emergency First Aid Procedures

 

  1. Inhalation - Do not inhale finely aerosolized product. If person is having difficulty breathing, obtain prompt medical attention. Otherwise, remove person to fresh air.
  2. Eyes - Causes mild to moderate irritation. Hold eyelids open and flush with a lot of clean low-pressure water for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention if irritation continues.
  3. Skin - This product is practically non-toxic for small area skin exposures, however continuous or large area exposures may cause irritation. Wash with soap & water, rinse. Repeat if needed. Obtain medical attention if irritation continues.
  4. Ingestion -
    • For small amounts of product (not swallowed) wash out mouth with clean water until the taste is gone - spit out wash water.
    • For moderate to large amounts (swallowed, or suspected swallowed) - Obtain prompt medical attention. Do not induce vomiting. If spontaneous vomiting occurs, lean person forward to reduce risk of aspiration.


Physician Recommendations:
This product is an organic (non-petroleum based) defatting solvent.

  • If ingested, activated charcoal will absorb much of the product. Dilute and/or lavage as clinically indicated (avoid strong oxidizing and reducing agents.) Vomiting may be induced if the airway is secure.
  • If a finely aerosolized product is inhaled or the person is having difficulty breathing, consider possible alveolar surfactant etiologies. If the person is unconscious, a secure airway is recommended to prevent possible aspiration (chemical) pneumonia.
